Welcome to my blog! I am a lifestyle photographer based around Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.  My wonderful husband, Jared, and I live just north of Saskatoon in Osler, with our kitten, Oliver. We live insanely close to all of our family, but wouldn’t have it any other way.

Through my blog you will get to see some of my recent work, often my clients need a sneak peek because they can’t wait to get a glimpse of how their pictures turned out, and I don’t blame them one bit! So, I usually get the sneak peek up within 24 hours of the session. I will also be posting about my life, thoughts and dreams so go ahead and get comfy!

Feel free to come by often and share some of yourself. If you want to contact me you can send me an e-mail at: info@chantelklassen.com

Oh, and leave comments, I like comments! :)

** The blog will be under construction for the next few weeks so bear with me! **

The new blog-site is up and running, you can view it at: www.chantelklassen.com, all new blog posts and information will be going up there and this site will no longer be used! Go check it out -I love the ability to post larger pictures!

We are officially in Rosetown! Made it here safely and we’ll pretty much be here until Christmas.

My blog and website will be undergoing some major changes in the next few days and as a result my e-mail may be going down for a bit. If you need to e-mail me please send your message to: info@chantelklassen.com as well as chantelklassen@gmail.com until further notice. If you just send it to info@chantelklassen.com it may get lost in cyber space never to be found!

On the drive from Saskatoon to Rosetown we pass a tiny place called Laura, I’m not even sure it is big enough to be a village. There is a really neat eerie old church that I’ve wanted to take pictures of for a while and I finally did.

Totally love it:

I love the rust:

** After the blog and website details are all figured out and working properly I will be posting tons of photos from sessions!

This weekend was the fundraiser for the Osler rink and we had a good turnout despite the rain. Here’s one from Kristin and Scott’s session, they were the first up for Friday evening.

Friday is moving day for us so I will not have the internet from Friday until sometime on Monday. I’m working away on my editing and trying to get the majority of the sessions done before our move!

I met Ashleigh two years ago when we had a few classes together, this last year I had nearly every class with Ashleigh so we got to know each other quite well. I was excited when I got contacted by her mom earlier this summer to do some family photos.

P.S. We are moving to Rosetown in one week, so I am busy trying to edit as many sessions as possible before we go, thus explaining the short blog posts!

I absolutely love photographing girls that are this age. They alway have great style and because of the digital age they are familiar with being in front of the camera -Aimie was no exception. She was awesome.

I loved her shoes (my obsession with flats continues):

There were some big rain clouds rolling in but they sky was such awesome colors for a while:

More to come!

“Sometimes”, said Pooh, “the smallest things take up the most room in your heart.”

Jason and Cara will be welcoming their little one in the next five weeks or so and I couldn’t be happier for them. I’ve known Cara since grade 5 and while we did not hit it off right away (haha, um, not even close) we did become good friends years later in high school. We’ve been friends with Jason and Cara for years (Jason also just happens to be Jared’s cousin) and I find it exciting to watch friends go through new phases of life. I think when you know the parents well enough you can usually predict how their child is going to turn out and I’ve got all sorts of predictions for Baby Froese (good ones, don’t worry). My one wish for him/her is that he/she has Cara’s curly hair, that would be so cute!

We went out the other evening to document this time in their life when they are waiting for their little one to arrive.

I think Cara has the cutest/most perfect baby belly.

Just a quick one from my first of three sessions I had yesterday.

I remember when I was young, I admired everything about her. I loved her big baggy sweaters, envied her high ponytails with big scrunchies, I was in awe of how she got to sleep in until lunch time, I even remember wishing I could color as well as she did in my Precious Moments coloring book. Yes, if I would have had my way I would have copied everything she did, but she was 5 years older and little kids like me couldn’t do the kinds of things big kids like her could. Kristin was like a big sister to me.

Last night we went out and I shot some awesome photos of her (she’s gorgeous, they couldn’t be anything less than awesome). And yes, I still want to be like her.

Kris, there is something about this next picture that reminds me of your mom:

It’s a busy week so the posts are going to be short but you can bet there will be more to come!

I was thinking about portrait/lifestyle sessions today and I would like a little input on what you like better. Please help me out by answering the poll below!
